| "It's What We Do!" 832-366-3276 |
| Remember when kids used to go outside and PLAY? When most of us were kids our Saturday routine was wake up, cartoons, chores, then go outside and play until the street lights came on. Sadly, X-Box, PS3, and Cartoon Network have seriously changed all of that. We almost have to pay our kids to go beyond the front porch without whining, "it's hot", "no one else is outside", or my personal favorite, "there's nothing to do out here!" Nearly 36 percent of our Houston kids ages 6 to 17 are overweight; 19 percent are obese. Poor food choices combined with inactivity are the major causes of this. This is where Body Boot Camp will take a stand and help reduce those numbers and get our children active and healthy once again. As a community service we welcome all children ages 7-14 whom are not currently enrolled in athletic activities to join us for kid-friendly boot camp workouts! Together we can make the difference! Keeping our children active is a sure fire way to enhance: Social skills Self esteem Sense of comradery Leadership skills Body Boot Camp is not a form of punishment for non-active kids. We are an avenue for them to get out and see what they're missing by interacting with others like themselves in a fun-filled active invironment. The best part is that no one will feel "left out" or "different" because they're not good at sports or athletics simply because that is not our focus. We want to focus on basic exercise and good old fashioned outdoor fun! Eligibility Requirements: Participating child must not be currently enrolled in sport activities (football, martial arts, dance, etc) Must be 7-14 years of age Recommended Equipment: Towel or yoga mat Water |
